2016 Russian River Selection Chardonnay
2016 Russian River Selection Chardonnay
Russian River Valley
VINEYARD: This blend marries several outstanding vineyards from around the Russian River Valley, taking advantage of varied climates, with each vineyard contributing its unique site characteristics to the extended layers of richness and complexity.

TASTING NOTES:  A wine with mouthwatering acidity, this blend of unique Russian River Valley vineyards offers an enticing bouquet of citrusy herbs, zesty lemons and subtle baking spices. Expressive layers of aromas offer a playful nose of bright citrus, floral notes and under ripe tropical fruits. The palate opens up with a gentle kiss of lemon verbena, white peach, tart pineapple and an undertone of buttery shortbread, all the while sustaining its acute yet elegant structure.

The Bacigalupi family grapes garnered fame in 1976 when they were used to make Chateau Montelena’s winning entry in that year’s Paris Tasting. The oldest vines on the property were planted in 1967 on St. George rootstock and are a mix of head-trained and cordon-trained vines. Vine orientation in our blocks is predominantly north/south with east/west exposure.
