VINEYARD:The Wat Vineyard of Dutton Ranch is located just off Bodega Highway in Sebastopol, in one of the coolest parts of the Green Valley sub-appellation of the Russian River AVA. About 18.5 miles southwest of the winery and 12 miles east of the Pacific Coast, vines were planted on 101-14 rootstock, to 50% UCD 37 (a Mount Eden clone) and 50% Dijon clone 828. The Goldridge series soil is a fine sandy loam that provides excellent drainage and low soil fertility, while the coastal fog intrusions provide a cooling effect after moderately warm, sunny days.
TASTING NOTES:Pale and coppery, rose gold in color, this intentional rosé smells remarkably of cumquat, orange blossom, lemon mint and pomegranate. Flavors of white peach, quince, hibiscus and candied orange peel unfold on the palate, marrying perfectly with bright, mouthwatering acidity. The savory flavors and mineral-driven texture lead to a cool, refreshing experience and a lingering, crisp and dry finish that leaves the palate wanting more.
